# Intercom for Jira Cloud

[Intercom for Jira](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/io.toolsplus.atlassian.connect.jira.intercom/cloud/overview) allows you to set up a seamless two-way process from chatting with a customer in [Intercom](https://docs.toolsplus.io/atlassian-cloud/www.intercom.com?utm_medium=co-marketing\&utm_campaign=toolsplus) to creating and processing Jira work items and back again. Empower your customer service team to provide excellent communication by linking Intercom conversations to Jira work items. Updates on work items can then flow back to Intercom conversations and trigger reopening of closed Intercom conversations so your team knows instantly when it's time to get back to the customer.

Head over to the get started page to be up and running in a few clicks.

## Do more with the Intercom integration

Intercom for Jira was designed to work hand in hand with the free **Intercom integration.** This combo allows you to link and unlink Intercom conversations to Jira work items, have updates to Jira work items posted as notes to linked Intercom conversations, and even reopen linked conversations when the Jira work item is closed.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.toolsplus.io/atlassian-cloud/intercom-for-jira.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
